Since 1974, D. A. Christie Pty Ltd has been committed to protecting the health and safety of those who use public parks and recreation facilities. And the managers of those facilities all agree, risk management is paramount.
That’s why Christies have led the world in developing their 'parksafe' cooking systems.
So today, every Christie Parksafe BBQ includes vital safety features designed and developed exclusively by Christie. For example ....
To ensure that the BBQ is never turned on inadvertently, every Christie Parksafe BBQ has a 6 second safety delay.
The start button must be depressed and held down for a full six seconds before the unit will turn on.
Small children do get excited in a park so all around each hotplate the bench fascia carries illustrated warning labels at a child’s eye-level.
In addition there is a 100mm protection zone, so if a small child does reach up to the bench top it shouldn’t be able to reach the hotplate.
Christie hotplates are also elevated and isolated from the bench top by a perforated mesh. This stops heat from the hotplate being transferred to the bench top and it also allows heat inside the cabinet to escape keeping the bench cool.
Excited children will run about without much care, so every Christie Parksafe bench top has rounded corners with polycarbonate inserts to soften any accidental impact.
Children also love to climb and explore, so Christie Parksafe BBQs have been designed without protrusions or ledges that might assist climbing.
Every Christie Parksafe BBQ is also at least 900mm above the ground and can be fitted with an optional insulated lid to cover the plate after use.
